Quand on vient de lire Gone Baby Gone de Dennis Lehane et qu'on a adoré,
pensez-vous que ça vaille le coup d'aller voir le film ? Ca me tente
fortement, mais au cas où il serait très inférieur au roman j'hésiterais à
prendre le risque que la version cinéma occulte la version littéraire...

Autre question à l'adresse de ceux qui l'ont vu : le film est-il
"supportable" au niveau des images ? J'avoue qu'une des scènes (qui a pour
cadre une salle de bains, pour ne pas spoiler) m'a tellement impressionnée
en la lisant que je redoute un peu de la voir...

J'avais lu le roman il y a un bon moment mais j'avoue que j'ai bien aimé le
film.

THE CHINESE PETITION AND PROTEST.


We get additional and valuable light on social conditions at Hong
Kong, through statements drawn up by prominent Chinese men and laid
before the Governor. As a representation from the Chinese standpoint
it has peculiar value at all points excepting where self-interest
might afford a motive for coloring the truth.

The occasion of these statements was as follows: On November 9, 1878,
a month before the report of the Commission was published, certain
Chinese merchants had petitioned the Governor to be allowed to form
themselves into a society for suppressing kidnaping and trafficking
