Last I checked, 82% of this country was English. But the best way to fight this french arrogance is to keep posting in english, don't worry about the headers, let them eat their own dog food. |

La faute est à l'OP : la courtoisie exige que l'on doive poster dans la langue qui convient à chaque groupe de news. Des injures généralisées, injustifiées, et inintelligentes sont superflues. How charming you are! It's all the OP's fault: courtesy requires that one should post group by group in the language appropriate. Generalised, unjustified, and unintelligent insults are superfluous. |

If so, I say welcome. On pourrait également demander pourquoi des anglophones continuent à poster en anglais à *quatre* groupes francophones. Vous adorez tant la langue française ? ;-D One might equally ask why English speakers are continuing to post in English to *four* French-language newsgroups. Do you love French that much ? (Now how to translate that smiley [ho ho].) |

Like you, I have not altered the original message headers - whence the continued cross-posting. > Perhaps you should read the original message. I simply responded as I > will continue to do. Am I not welcome? Surely you welcome english > messages when you cross post to Can. politics. Otherwise, why do you > bother? I can speak only for myself. If you read what I have written in this thread, you will see that what I am beefing about is (1) the OP's breach of netiquette in cross-posting to different language groups; (2) the way the discussion has degenerated into comments about the arrogance and other faults of anglophones, francophones, Quebecians, and - I don't know - whomever else. Looks like pots and kettles to me (if I can say so without offending everyone all at once.) > I thought the french wanted a bilingual Canada? If so, why is Quebec > french only? Do you really want an all french Canada? Is bilingualism > just a farce? What you do in Westpondia is up to you. It doesn't bother me much. Correction: what your southern neighbours do is frequently irksome; I can't think of anything I have against the Canadians.... :-) |
